Someone Else (foundsound, alphahouse, spineakle) – live

someone else is philadelphia’s sean o’neal, co-founder of the tuning spork and fuzzy box record labels. o’neal’s production skills are garnering respect among internationally renowned djs and labels alike, as reflected by his releases and remixes on musik krause, tuning spork, foundsound, mo’s ferry, microcosm,
nummer, and many others. a stalwart of philadephia’s deep house, minimal techno and experimental communities, o’neal also co-organized various events, hosting performances by magda, matthew dear, sammy dee, geoff white, jeff milligan, dan
bell, dinky, and many others. his current occupations focus on running foundsound and unfoundsound records.
since 1994, o’neal has been the force behind his ever-evolving, kitsch-driven electro-pop outfit, flowchart releasing dozens and dozens of albums, singles, eps and comp tracks on different labels from all over the world.
he holds several dj-residencies in philly and continues to spin and play live all around the country and world—such as russia, argentina, chile, uruguay, spain, england, switzerland, germany, france, holland, slovakia, canada, and most major american cities.

T R E P L E C ( – Berlin

The ramifications springing from tradition, sensibility and modernity with an eye on love! Since around 1998,Mr. Nils Scheibe a.k.a. has had a vested interest in preserving the part of the region closest to the sweat-stroked skin of the disco and the solarium slash pierced, slamtechno. In 2003 the path presented itself as he founded his own label. Milnor Modern opened the eyes of the world to a place for his favourite music. Whether
self-produced or in cooperation with producers such as Shatterhand Andre Koener, also finding its way was whatever happened to land in the letterbox. Basically whatever rocked in particular and gets the blood running at home or in the club was released.

The cuts are painstakingly chosen and placed in DJ-sets, or sporadically dropped on laptop live sets from Treplec himself. Stemming from deep minimal, prickly, freaky up to driven and at the same time modern and tradition cleverly interwoven. For people who like to dance and savour there stands Treplec’s
musical forms whether spun records or pre-packaged is your thing.

The sails are set, the galley Milnor Modern with skipper Treplec in the global sunrise of the second half of this decade. Armed with a minimalist philosophy of fat-toned electronic music to skiff the waves and bring her home to the harbour. The land lovers wait with bouquets already flowing in the wind. Gez.:

Sebastian Russell (telegraph, milnormodern, multi vitamins)

Sebs entry into the electronic sphere began in 2003. Without a long history of making electronic music he was free to approach the medium from an objective position. Sebs work has a fresh feel and an inherently uncluttered style. Aoki Takamasa is Sebs electronic reference point and they share a love of non-traditional sound sources and beautiful sonic landscapes. Other influences
include Radiq, Mathew Dear and Prefuse 73, at first these names seem to be disparate but they are equally minimalist in execution. His quirky but instantly groovy style has evolved over the past few years thanks to an incredible work ethic, Seb arrived in London in mid 2004 with the intention of writing a new tune every day and keeping the best one at the end of the week. Amazingly he did this and has produced a large body of work. Playing at
underground techno parties in London has allowed Seb to get an instant reaction to his work from the dancefloor where it matters most.

Imminent releases on Milnormodern, Multivitamins and Telegraph Records see Sebastian move onto the next stage in his musical evolution. However, the only constant that Sebastian will maintain is change and in the future you can expect a live show incorporating more than just a laptop but traditional
musicians and vocalists. The next time you hear his work he is sure to have added or even taken something away.
